Tell The Pollution Level with Your Shirt
When scientists meet fashion, they create amazing things. First there was spray-on fabric, then a dress that paints itself, and now a sweatshirt that lets you wear your lungs (or heart) on the outside.

Created by two NYU graduates Nien Lam and Sue Ngo with thermochromic fabric and a dime-sized carbon monoxide sensor, the 'respiratory organ' attached to the sweatshirt will have blue veins appear when it detects polluted air from surrounding factories and vehicles.

Common uses of thermochromic dyes among companies are promotional tees that slowly reveal slogans or logos for promotion purposes.
