Intel Hires Black Eyed Peas Singer will.i.am
Similar to Polaroid’s acquisition of Lady Gaga as the company’s creative director, technology giant Intel has made Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am its ‘Director of Creative Innovation’.
In his role, will.i.am will collaborate with Intel on “creative and technology endeavors” that may include laptops, smartphones and tablets, the company said in a statement.
“Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers, and when I see an Intel chip I think of all the creative minds involved that help to amplify my own creativity,” the singer said in a statement.
will.i.am will also contribute music “expressly for Intel”, according to the company.
The partnership is part of Intel’s ‘compute continuum’ vision, in which the company explores the relationship between consumers and the media they consume on technological devices.
“Intel is in the midst of transforming the way we communicate with people,” said Intel CMO and vice president Deborah Conrad in a statement, who added that the partnership will marry the entertainment and technology worlds to create “the ultimate experience”.
