85% of Americans Own Cellphones, Survey Says
Cellphones are the most popular tech device among US adults with 85% of them owning one, according to a study conducted by Pew Internet.
Additionally, 90% of all American adults live in a household with at least one working cellphone, Pew said.
Cellphone owners say taking pictures and text messaging are the two most popular non-voice functions they use their mobiles for.
The number of people who own smartphones has also increase to 30%, but most users are in the age range of 18 to 34.
Pew also created an infographic detailing various tech gadgets—laptops, eReaders, and so on—and the demographics who use them.
