Like the INQ phones, these new devices will be Facebook-centric. That is to say a phone running on Android or another operating system with its interface specially designed to accommodate Facebook features.
“A lot has been made about a single Facebook phone,” Zuckerberg was quoted as telling delegates at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. “But this year, you can expect to see dozens of phones with much deeper social integration than we have so far.”
Zuckerberg was referring to a “software solution” rather than a hardware one, the BBC said. The news outlet also cited a tech editor who said this strategy is the “right approach” for the social network.
