Reducing Movies to a Timeline of Stills



The image above isn’t a corrupt JPEG. It’s The Social Network; the thin strips that compose the image are in fact individual stills from the film.

Moviebarcodes is a themed Tumblr blog that posts images of films reduced down to their constituent parts, just like the one above.

After extracting every frame from a single movie, Moviebarcode compresses them to form one single image, according to tech blog Gizmodo.
