‘Rooftop Painter’ Creates Murals for Google Earth
Climbing atop buildings, Molly Dilworth paints large-scale murals on roofs with one specific audience in mind: the satellite that supplies Google Earth its maps.
The ongoing project, aptly titled Paintings for Satellites, has led Dilworth to create three rooftop paintings in New York and grabbing their reproductions as seen on Google Earth.
“The Paintings for Satellites are specifically concerned with the effects of the digital on our physical bodies,” wrote Dilworth on her website. “This project uses materials from the waste stream (discarded house paint) to mark a physical presence in digital space.”
