National Geographic Unveils Image of World’s ‘Most Typical Person’
As part of its year-long series on the global population of seven billion people, National Geographic has unveiled an image of what it calls “the most typical person”. And that person is Chinese.
Specifically, the world’s most typical person is a 28-year old Han Chinese male, the magazine said, culling census figures from the world’s countries to arrive at its conclusion.
To produce the image you see above, National Geographic researchers averaged 190,000 of their photos taken over the course of 10 years to create one composite image.
However, by 2030, the most typical person won’t be Chinese—he or she will come from India instead, according to National Geographic.
