Microsoft Bing Hops on Daily Deals Bandwagon
Microsoft has yesterday announced it will be integrating daily deals from Groupon, Living Social and other group coupon websites into its search engine, Bing.
Bing deals will be available on both mobile and desktop editions, and will cover 14,000 cities and towns across the US, Microsoft said.
The software company partnered with The Dealmap, a company that aggregates deals by city, to serve the deals based on a user’s location.
On the mobile Bing site, iPhone and Android users—surprisingly, no Windows Phone support was announced—will see a ‘Deals’ section, which they can then filter by location or category.
Desktop users will notice a new green icon beside businesses who offer deals. Users will have to click through to the business’ details page on Bing to take advantage of the deal.
