Mapping the Japan Quake with Facebook Status Updates
Facebook has for the first time released a series of 10 maps showing how news of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami spread throughout the globe.
The social network culled users’ status updates with the words “Japan”, “earthquake” and “tsunami” and plotted them according to place and time, according to the BBC.
The time shown on the Facebook graphic is in US Pacific time, 17 hours behind Japan.
