Google has yesterday launched a revamped version of its iPhone and iPod Touch app that sports a completely redesigned interface and new gesture-based browsing features.

The most notable change is the addition of a toolbar that makes filtering search results easier. Users can open the toolbar by swiping from left to right, explains software engineer Alastair Tse and product manager Robert Hamilton in a blog post.

Other changes include a speedier search function and numerous under-the-hood upgrades to Gmail, Goggles, and so on.
