Alexander Wang Goes Into Menswear
Alexander Wang, winner of the highly-coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008 and one of fashion media's favorite young designers, will be introducing his first men's ready-to-wear collection, according to a report by Style.
"It’s about the right timing, the right opportunity, then one thing leads to another," Wang told Style, citing one of the reasons that encouraged him was the surprising win of GQ Magazine's 'Best New Menswear Designer Award' for his casual T collection.
The designer currently spends his time between two labels, Alexander Wang and T.
"The aesthetic will rely heavily on utilitarian function and by taking staples and redeveloping them in a new context", reports Hypebeast.
The men's ready-to-wear collection will be available in Barneys New York, Dover Street Market, and Colette.
