You’ll have better luck getting your project off the ground on Kickstarter if you’re a filmmaker or musician. The crowd-funding website published a series of graphs and charts documenting some of its key figures, in celebration of its second anniversary yesterday.
Of all the projects started, films receive the bulk of the dollars pledges: nearly US$20 million. Music projects follow with more than US$13 million pledged. Both film and music are miles ahead of the other projects; design projects, the third most-funded category, received only a total of US$3.6 million.
Fashion projects, in comparison, received a total of just half a million dollars, the lowest on Kickstarter’s list.
