Lady Gaga, FarmVille Partner to Launch ‘GagaVille’
Lady Gaga is partnering with social game phenomenon FarmVille to create a special farm called ‘GagaVille’, where the pop icon will exclusively debut songs from her new album, reports the AP.
To listen to the new tracks, players will first have to complete tasks on GagaVille, according to the AP. One new song will be streamed online each day from 17 to 19 May. On 20 May, players will be able to unlock additional, non-exclusive songs, the AP said.
But GagaVille will not be a permanent fixture for Zynga, the maker of the hit game. The virtual farm will be razed on 26 May, once Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album is released.
This isn’t the first time Zynga has inked a deal with a recording artist. In December last year, the company partnered Dr Dre to release a track from his Detox album in the game Mafia Wars. However, Zynga didn’t create a unique space for the rapper, as it did for Lady Gaga.
“Lady Gaga is as passionate about her fans as we are about our players,” Zynga director of entertainment and media Raquel DiSabatino told the AP. “This really was a great meeting of the minds to create an innovative and playful experience for those folks.”
