What Would George Washington Post on Facebook?

If George Washington were alive, what would he ‘Like’ on Facebook? Would he post “OMG” or “WTF”? Interested in these questions, artist Shawn Huckins painted these acrylic on canvas pieces depicting the founding fathers with less-than-respectable acronyms plastered over them.

“The American Revolution was conceived through an exchange of a few well-formed ideas communicated in person and by handwritten letters,” Huckins wrote on his website. “Imagine what George and Co. could have done with the internet.”

But then Huckins undermines the optimistic assumption, implying that communicating primarily in txt-speak results in social and cultural illiteracy, resulting in Justin Bieber achieving more ‘Likes’ on Facebook than any political organization.
