ZOMG! More Internet Acronyms Enter Oxford Dictionary
“ZOMG” is another internet-inspired acronym that will soon enter the Oxford Dictionaries Online (ODO), an affiliate of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) that focuses on current language and practical usage.

The exclamation is defined by the ODO as: “Used especially on electronic message boards as a sarcastic comment on an inexperienced or overenthusiastic poster.”

Other tech terms that accompany “ZOMG” include “Twittersphere”, “unfollow” and “permalink”. Just two years ago, the Facebook equivalent of “unfollow”, “unfriend” was named the ODO’s word of the year, according to Mashable.

In March this year, the OED inducted the less over-the-top cousin of “ZOMG”, “OMG”, along with “LOL”, “FYI” and “IMHO”, continuing the dictionary’s dedication to keeping relevant with the digital times.

Here's the full list of newly-added words to the ODO.
