Alexandria-based Michael Baker Jr. Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corp. (AMEX: BKR), will provide architectural and engineering design services as part of the contract from Overseas Buildings Operations, part of the State Department.

Hyattsville-based Desbuild will handle construction services for the building's addition, which will house the U.S. Agency for International Development within the embassy in Kingston.

Michael Baker Corp., an engineering and maintenance services company, employs more than 5,000 people worldwide.

Desbuild, founded in 1993, has completed more than $90 million in projects for federal, state and local entities. The minority-owned and operated business has worked on design-build projects for the U.S. embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Manama, Bahrain; and Katmandu, Nepal.
