Apple plans to launch a faster iPhone with a better camera in September to coincide with the release of iOS 5, reports Bloomberg News, citing two people familiar with the plans.

The new iPhone will resemble the iPhone 4 but will house the A5 processor, the same one used in the iPad 2, as well as an eight-megapixel camera, reports Bloomberg. Currently, the iPhone 4’s camera has a five-megapixel resolution.

In addition to the speedier model, Apple is also planning to launch a cheaper version of the iPhone, aimed at people in developing countries, reports Bloomberg. These phones will use similar hardware to the current iPhone 4.

Apple is also tweaking its iPad; the next model will boast “a more responsive touchscreen” as well as a screen resolution one-third higher than that of the iPad 2, according to Bloomberg.
