Portuguese designers Gonçalo Campos and Maria Bruno Néo have an interesting method of creating their Pano candleholders: first, they soak cotton cloth in porcelain and shape it; they then bake it to retain the shape before burning away the fabric to leave behind the delicate porcelain shell.
