Take a Dive in Florida to See This Underwater Gallery of Art

In hopes of adding another dimension to his pieces, Austrian artist and diver Andreas Franke decided to put his collection of paintings at the bottom of the sea.

Franke’s waterproof works of art are surreal paintings depicting ghost-life onboard a capsized vessel. To suit this theme, the artist stuck the photoshopped works of art with magnets onto a sunken warship, the USNS Vandenberg, in Florida.

The 522-foot warship, that’s 93 feet below the Key West’s waters, was sunk on purpose years ago—through controlled demolition—as an attempt of creating an artificial reef.

To experience Franke’s art, one must learn to scuba dive.
