Ad Students Petition Don Draper to Deliver Graduation Speech
He might not even be real, but that isn’t stopping a group of students from pitching Mad Men’s Don Draper to speak at their graduation ceremony.
Students from the Creative Circus advertising school is hoping the whiskey-drinking, chain-smoking creative director, or at least the actor who plays him Jon Hamm, will give a rousing keynote speech.
And they’re serious. The students, Deanna Director, David Ma and Mike Quattrocch, actually flew to several ad agencies to garner support from real-life creative directors. A video of their effort can be found below.
The campaign video has reached AMC, the TV channel responsible for Mad Men, who “loved it”, reports TIME magazine. The company is currently “exploring the possibility with Hamm”, TIME said.
