TableDrum is an app for iDevices that turns absentminded finger-tapping into complicated drum rolls.
It works by mapping an external sound—say, a door slam—onto a kit drum sound, so each time the app hears a door slam, it triggers a drum hit.
In a demo video, (see below) the ‘drummer’ synchs up the sound of a regular finger tap on a table, the sharper thud of a ring hitting the table and the metallic chink of that ring on a glass cup.
According to Gizmodo, there are eight different drum cymbals from snares to cymbals, with extra sounds available as in-app purchases.
