Crick’s view on his profession echoes AIGA’s: that designers should not work for free under the guise of exposure and spec work should be avoided at all cost.
“Design and designerly thinking are a powerful and effective cultural force and business practice,” the Australian designer wrote on his portfolio website. “As designers it is important that we treat ourselves and our industry with the respect each deserves.”
