Animator Letters Project was started by Willie Downs that aims to inspire aspiring animators by publishing letters of encouragement written by those prolific in the industry.

“My goal is to publish a book packed full of letters from animators of different major studios, encouraging people who have a passion for animation to not give up and to follow their dreams,” Downs wrote.

Downs started this project when he saw how a letter from a Pixar animator addressed to him encouraged people like it encouraged him, to “not give up on their own personal dreams”.

But while the letters may be specifically about the animation industry, other creatives will also find them useful for a quick pick-me-up during more turbulent times.
