Kyoto-based 9 hours is an ultra-minimalist capsule hotel.
It seeks to break down the hospitality experience into a simple equation: one hour to shower + seven hours of sleep + one hour of rest = nine hours.
The hotel is designed with mostly black and white interior and furniture, with simple signage so guests can easily help themselves.
Toiletries, towels, and sleepwear are provided; and sleeping pods are designed with dim ambient light that slowly brightens up when the alarm of the pod goes off so guests can wake unabruptly.
9 Hours is designed by Tokyo-based Cubic Corp Designed in collaboration with designer Fumie Shibata of Design Studio S.
