Which City has the Worst Commute?

According to IBM, it’s Mexico City.

The technology company just published the results to its annual Commuter Pain Index and found the Mexican capital to be the worst in the world when it comes to getting around. Montreal, London and Chicago fared the best.

To arrive at its findings, IBM asked commuters how traveling has affected their personal stress levels, anger, and their performance at work or school.

“Commuting doesn’t occur in a vacuum,” said IBM global intelligent transportation expert Naveen Lamba. “A person’s emotional response to the daily commute is colored by many factors—pertaining both to traffic congestion as well as to other, unrelated issues.

“This year’s Global Commuter Pain survey indicates that drivers in cities around the world are much more unsettled and anxious compared with 2010.”
