A young Israeli agency claims to be the first to launch a campaign on fledgling social network Google+ with a self-promotional effort that went viral.
pH Creative saw an opportunity to take advantage of the buzz surrounding Google+, and the many people looking for an invite.
The firm, which already was on the social network, then exploited a loophole: it created an invitation card image, uploaded it onto Google+ and then tagged its contacts in the marketing industry. Those tagged would receive an invitation to join the network.
And because the people who accepted the invitation started off with only pH as their friend, the firm loaded up its profile with samples out of its portfolio for everyone who joined to browse through the work.
