Clueless souls still trying to figure out what happened over the many years leading up to the Greek Financial Crisis need not look further—a simplified answer is here.
Contrary to reports filled with all that confusing argy-bargy to explain the Financial Crisis, Nomint stripped it down its essence and produced a three-part animation that even kids can understand.
The project was to “present our very own version of the Greek Crisis”, Nomint enthused about their kids’ animation.
Not much needs to be said about the animated allegories except that it gives you the gist of what brought about the financial strain on the country: accompanied with well-illustrated characters and brilliant sound effects, in a cute and entertaining way.
The Greek Crisis Explained personifies the country as a young girl who gets spoilt by kind lenders and people who loved her, until she was faced with a “Dept”, represented by a colossal monster. The European Union, a superhero, tries to help her but is unable to do so on its own. When almost all hope was lost, the IMF came along. And the story goes on…
Understanding complicated flowcharts, commentary, figures, and statistics, just got easier with the help of this comic trio.
The videos were created in June 2010, but with Greek still figuring in the headlines, they do serve as basic primers on the European situation.
