Put away the clothes; there’s now something else that lasts longer than many fashion seasons put together, and makes a literally bigger statement.
To celebrate Gucci’s 90th anniversary this year, the fashion label have collaborated with Fiat to produce the 500 by Gucci, which is the automaker’s iconic Fiat 500, stylishly revolutionized by Gucci.
The special edition Fiat 500, also known as “cinquecento” in Italian, is customized by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini herself and comes in two colors of shimmering black and white. The car sells for an estimated price of 16,000 pounds (US$25,600).
Distinctive Gucci elements such as their iconic green and red colorway, interlocking “GG” logo and cursive Gucci signature are applied throughout the sporty automobile.
The colorway can be seen running along the seats, carpet, seatbelt, gearshift, and car’s exterior; logos on hubcaps and gearshift; and signature on its doorpost.
“Gucci’s history has always been about travelling in style,” Giannini said. “So when this collaboration came up, it struck me as the perfect opportunity to create a new modern travel statement.”
This amalgamation of two storied Italian brands resulted in the production of true Italian design ethos. For a voyage in vogue, this is the new très chic.
