Philippe Starck Reinvents the Photobooth
French designer Philippe Starck has reinvented the photobooth for British booth manufacturer Photo-Me.
The new Photo-Me photobooth looks the same on the outside, but more technologically advanced on the inside.
Unlike old photobooths, the reinvented machine has a touch-screen interface and its seat is not adjustable—instead the camera automatically adjusts to the user’s height.
With the new booth, customers can create pop art photos, postcards, world tour fun photos, and framed photos, just to name a few.
The booth also allows users to “share” their photos immediately through Facebook, Flickr and email, or download their photographs through a USB port.
Starck’s reinvention was inspired by modern technologies in video games and telecommunication devices. The photobooths can be found in selected shopping centers in the UK.
