Ross Nanotechnology has developed NeverWet, a silicon-based spray-on super-hydrophobic coating that completely repels water and heavy oils.
Clothes, electronics, and other surfaces become extremely waterproof when coated with the silicon spray—any liquid placed on the surfaces is repelled and rolls off.
The spray makes surfaces anti-wetting, anti-icing, anti-bacterial, anti-corrosion, and self-cleaning.
The product is expected to be commercially available to the public only in 2012.
