Wine Bottles Made of Paper, Not Glass
Martin Myerscough of GreenBottle is hoping wine connoisseurs won’t be as particular about the bottle as they are with its contents. The self-described tinker, engineer and inventor has created a wine bottle out of paper, which he claims is greener and lighter.
Compared to the usual glass bottle, which weighs 500g, Myerscough’s paper bottle weighs only 50g—and it has only 10% the carbon footprint of glass. The paper bottle has identical dimensions as its glass counterpart, so it can still fit into a normal production and delivery line.
