The infographic, 'Free Your Feet', compares the science between barefoot running and running in shoes, and goes into detail on what your running shoes might actually be doing to your body.
According to the infographic, running in running shoes exerts more strain on your joints than walking in high-heeled shoes.
Shoes only came about in 8,000BC—which were woven sandals. And since the 1970s, Achilles tendon blowouts have increased by 10%.
The infographic states that when running barefoot the shock caused from landing would be evenly distributed, as compare to running in shoes.
Running shoes have also been proven to cause: hip rotation torque, knee flexion torque, and knee varus torque.
Shoe companies have noticed the benefits of barefoot running, and barely-there shoes are now a US$1.7 billion industry.
