In ‘A Cupful of Tea Facts’, it states that over 3 million tonnes of tea is produced a year from: China, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Vietnam—with China producing the most amount of tea (1,275,384 tonnes).
Everyday, 165 million cups of tea are consumed in the UK itself—approximately 40% of the UK’s fluid intake is tea.
If you visit Tibet, tea is served mixed with salt and butter. And in Myanmar, pickled tea (know as Lahpet) is eaten.
Out of Oolong, Green, White and Black tea, Black tea consists of the most amount of caffeine.
