Designer Makes Ultra-Minimalist Toaster Out Of Cement, Rebar, Wood

Designer Adi Zaffran Weisler constructed a simple toaster using only five easily-available raw materials of contemporary construction.

The ‘pita bread toaster’ is designed specifically for flat pita bread; and made using: a cement cinder block, a wood plank, two rebar rods, wire, and some fasteners.

“The pita bread as a staple food led me to use of simple and basic building materials,” Weisler said. “Here is a brick oven, which is elementary while taking advantage of the cement block’s morphology.”
