Industrial Color has debuted their GLOBALedit App for Microsoft Surface—the first ever digital light table—at the NRF Convention last week.

The app leverages the 360-degree user interface and multi-touch capabilities of the Microsoft Surface platform to enable team collaboration on photo editing, image markups, layout creation and other creative review sessions.

According to Steve Kalalian, President of Industrial Color, "the industry not too long ago enjoyed gathering on a light table and collaborating together and great ideas came from that".

But in recent years, he adds that it has become "a little cumbersome to work together in a digital environment which is why [they] created GLOBAL edit".
