Titled ‘Toying With The World’, the illustration contains some revealing facts.
For example, while the US has less than 4% of the world’s children, it buys more than 40% of the world’s toys.
Also, the average toy budget for an American kid works out to $280—14 times greater than what the Chinese spend on their kids.
The infographic also compares figures across different toy manufacturing companies, listing Mattel as the largest toy retailer in the world.
Star Wars also continues to be the most popular form of ‘Boy’s Toys’ for the third consecutive year.
The toy industry is further proved resilient as while Americans reduced average supermarket spending by about 0.5%from 2009 to 2010; the toy industry sales grew by 2%.
It appears that recession or not, kids’ play are certainly not compromised.
