Boring ‘stay-cations’ (staying vacations) may soon take a turn for the more exciting. Ivan Filipovic has designed a ‘botel’ – a boat hotel – that’s a hotel that travels on water.
Filipovic’s intriguing design consists a lobby, restaurant, bar and reception, surrounded by a covered outdoor deck. The roof deck also has a terrace, swimming pool, green oasis and nightclub.
It sure sounds like a cruise ship, but the private cabins of this ‘botel’ can be separated from the main hotel, for guests to explore their surroundings. These 22 cabins would be powered by solar energy and can also be GPS-enabled, so guests wouldn’t get lost.
Staying in a floating hotel may be an experience of a lifetime, but guests might also need to learn how to swim prior to their stay—just in case.
