Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has created a simple yet interactive installation that has children fill the museum space with colored stickers from top to bottom.
Titled ‘The Obliteration Room’, Kusama first constructed a large environment furnished with chairs, a table and even piano—all painted white.
Over a span of two weeks, children visiting the Queensland Gallery of Museum Art were then given thousands of colored dot stickers to be pasted all around.
The blank canvas eventually becomes invigorated with explosive splashes of color.
The installation is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition running through Mar 12.
