New Zealand-based art director Joseph Senior has given the girlish, pink-bow-in-ear Hello Kitty a complete superhero and pop culture makeover.

Senior has reimagined the popular Japanese cat as Darth Vader, Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thor and even Lady Gaga!

According to Senior, his work is both as “a tribute to George Lucas and [his] love of Star Wars, and as a way to occupy those rare quiet times”.

Sanrio’s iconic cat has never looked this badass.
