Japanese toy-making and video company Bandai has announced that it will be opening a theme park dedicated to the Mobile Suit Gundam.
The official toy robot playland, called ‘Gundam Front’, will be open in Tokyo, at shopping Odaiba, on 19 April 2012.
Gundam Front will be 2,050 square meters big and located at Tokyo’s Odaiba shopping mall, in the Plaza Tokyo diversity complex facility in the district Qinghai.
The front of the theme park would feature an 18-meter tall life-sized Gundam.
Visitors can enter free exhibits, relax at a Gundam-themed café, or pay about US$10-13 (800 yen for kids, 1,000 yen for adults) to enter the restricted exhibits.
In the paid area, visitors may watch films about the giant Gundam and the origin of Gundam.
In the free area, visitors can buy souvenirs or original products from a Gundam shop, and view model displays.
