The stamp series features Quentin Blake’s famous illustrations of Dahl’s best-selling works, such as The Twits, Matilda, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and The BFG.
The 30th anniversary of The BFG is also marked with a sheet of four stamps, showing scenes from the storyline, as well as a quote and illustration depicting the meeting between the giant and the Queen.
“This is an excellent way for us to kick off a year of celebrations to mark 30 years in print for The BFG and it's great that the stamps include a collector's set, devoted to The BFG and other characters from this book,” Ophelia Dahl, Dahl’s daughter said.
“My dad wrote thousands of letters home throughout his life and never dreamed that one day one of his own characters would grace a stamp.”
