‘Hotcan’ is a self-heating can that provides its users with a hot meal in minutes, without the need for a microwave or kitchen, anywhere at anytime.

It is a can of food surrounded by an outer can, where the space between the two cans contains water sachet (at the top) and granular limestone.

When users insert the spike into three holes on the can’s top rim, the water sachet gets pierced—and water then flows into the limestone.

The reaction between water and limestone produces heat—warming up the food in the can to a temperature of 60-70 degrees Celsius, within 8-12 minutes.

Hotcan also comes in variety of different flavors, such as: bangers & beans, chilli mac, vegetable chilli, chicken curry with rice, beans with balls, cheese ravioli in tomato sauce, and creamy rice pudding.
