Finnish company Rovio has announced that its Angry Birds empire will be leaving earth for the moon in its new game, ‘Angry Birds Space’.
The game—which is set for release on 22 March 2012—will be an entirely new game, Rovio wrote on its blog, but there will still be familiar elements.
According to Los Angeles Times, as a challenge to players, there would be “zero-gravity conditions” in the game (like in space) and “slow-motion puzzles and light-speed destruction”.
Andrew Stalbow, general manager of Rovio North America, also told Yahoo News, that NASA and National Geographic are launch partners for the game, as “science and education are very important to us”, he said.
Rovio also plans to launch Angry Birds Space in mobile gaming, animation, retail and publishing on the same day.
More details would be available in early March.
