As Easter approaches, UK jeweller Fabergé has organized the biggest egg hunt ever—in attempt to break the record for most participants in a live egg hunt, and “most expensive chocolate egg ever sold” in ‘The Guinness Book of Records’.
In The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, Londoners and tourists are able to join the competition to track down over 200 eggs hidden across 12 zones the city—throughout the period of Lent.
The eggs have all been specially hand-designed by artists and designers, such as Vivienne Westwood and Marc Quinn.
Participants can use the given maps with clues. The maps give the exact description of the eggs, but not the locations.
When an egg is located, hunters are encouraged to text the unique keyword found with the egg to “80001”.
Those who find an egg, and text the keyword, will be automatically entered into a competition—where they stand a chance to win a special Diamond Jubilee Egg worth $100,000 British pounds.
When the hunt is over on 20 March 2012, all eggs will be auctioned.
Money raised from the auctions will be given to charities, The Elephant Family and Action For Children.
If you are game to join the hunt, go to thebigegghunt.co.uk for more information of the eggs and locations.
