LEGO has just announced its latest release of the LEGO Architecture series featuring the iconic Sydney Opera House .

The model of Danish architect Jørn Utzon’s Australian landmark is the 12th project in the LEGO Architecture series.

The award-winning design has been described as one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century.

Other buildings that are in the series include Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water, the ‘Burj Dubai, and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House.

LEGO’s Architecture series was created to inspire aspiring architects, engineers, designers, as well as children of all ages.

The Sydney Opera House kit will be available in stores 1 March 2012 and retails at US$39.99.
