Scientists Develop Fabric That Can Charge Your Phone Using Body Heat
Scientists at Wake Forest’s Center for Nanotechnology and Molecular Material have developed a new fabric called the ‘Power Felt’ that can charge electronic devices.
The fabric uses thermoelectrics that is, using the heat generated by the wearer’s body to create electric charge.
According to the research team at the American university, the fabric can also be used to line car seats, insulate pipes and collect heat under roof tales.
Although usually expensive, they are hoping to reduce the price down to $1 for just enough fabric for a handphone cover.
