Designers Modify Baseball Bats For Protection Against Invaders

The American Design Club (AmDC) has asked 10 leading designers to modify a raw wood XBat baseball bat for their upcoming show titled ‘Threat: Objects for Defense and Protection’.

The exhibition seeks to explore what people will grab to protect themselves when an unwelcomed guest invades their homes.

The resulting creations ranged from a wooden rifle, meat tenderizer-inspired bats and even one with the word ‘Namaste’ emblazoned using Swarovski crystals.

In the month of March leading up to the exhibition, AmDC has also launched a fundraiser competition called ‘Name That Bat’ where people can donate $10 to name the bats.

Winners will receive the bat they named.
