With ‘Trigger Happy’, Turn Your iOS Device Or Android Into A Camera Remote
Utah-based photography and engineering trio Luke Duffield, Brett Gotula and Kevin Harrington, have developed a product that can turn any iOS or Android deviceinto a camera remote.
The product dubbed ‘Trigger Happy’ consists of an app, and a one-meter-long cable that connects the phone’s audio jack to many types of camera—from digital, point-and-shoot to high-end SLRs.
The innovative product also offers bulb functionality for timing long exposures, an intervalometer for timelapse photography, HDR mode and bramping.
Team member Harrington says that the steep prices of camera remotes currently in the market, and the lack of compability with modern electronic devices, led to the conception of Trigger Happy.
The team is also working to add new features to the remote, such as lightning, audio waveform and face detection.
Based on their Kickstarter page, the group is well on its way to manufacturing the product, which will retail at US$70 when it hits shelves in June.
