In Typography Dating Game, Match-Make Typefaces
By Anthea Quay, 27 Mar 2012
For her project, designer Aura Seltzer created a typography game that helps you learn how to pair typefaces.
In ‘Type Connection’, users are the matchmakers and get to help typefaces that are ‘looking for love’.
Before choosing, descriptions of ‘potential dates’ are presented—like in conventional dating websites.
Users get to decide the typefaces’ fate through various ‘date’ strategies.
While ‘matchmaking’, information about the typeface—such as typographic terminologies and type histories—would be explored, to help users understand and know more about the type.
In the game, Seltzer uses humor to engage users into learning more about typefaces.
