Infographic: The Twitter Addiction Explained
Research has shown that people may be more addicted to Twitter than caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, sex and sleep. But how do you know if you’re addicted to Twitter?
OnlineSchools.com has created an infographic that looks at the social media addiction.
The infographic ‘The 140 Character Fix’ says that you’re a Twitter addict if: you not only know what the ‘Fail Whale’ is, but also have your own customized T-shirt; you’ve reserved a Twitter handle for your unborn child; and you own the book ‘Twitterature’.
But not to worry Twitter addicts, you’re not alone.
According to the infographic, more than 50% of the 100 million active users on Twitter log in everyday, and send a total of 250 million tweets daily.
Majority of these users are female, aged 18 to 22, and have an education level less than high school.
Celebrities Ashton Kutcher, Alex Baldwin, and Chris Brown also need their 140-character fix.
Currently the most tweet-per-second record of 25,088tps was set last year on 9 December 2011, when the 1980s flick ‘Castle in the Sky’ was broadcast in Japan.
